Ultra Zoom launches on Chrome and Firefox
After months of development, Ultra Zoom is now available on the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons. The first release ships with hover-to-zoom plugins for more than 60 websites, including Google Images, Reddit, Twitter/X, Instagram, Amazon, and Pinterest.
Our goal was simple: bring back the fast, frictionless image browsing that used to be standard before sites started locking thumbnails behind clicks and modals. Hover any image, see it full size. No click. No redirect. No tracking.
Installation is one click — head to the homepage and grab the extension for your browser. If you hit any snags, our Help page covers setup, per-site controls, and troubleshooting.
Power tips: making the most of hover-to-zoom
Hover-to-zoom is one of those features that feels deceptively simple until you start using it every day. Here are a few shortcuts we've been leaning on internally.
Scroll to zoom further. Once an image pops up, scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. It's perfect for inspecting product photos on Amazon or Etsy.
Arrow keys for galleries. On Reddit, Instagram, and Pinterest, use the left and right arrow keys to walk through a gallery without dismissing the overlay.
Per-site toggle. If a website already has its own lightbox you like, click the Ultra Zoom toolbar icon and flip the site-specific switch. Ultra Zoom will stay out of the way there and keep working everywhere else.
The full shortcut reference lives on the Help page.
